The other day Hope was in the tub and since we have only one bathroom, when a guy’s gotta go, a guy’s gotta go. So, my husband figured it would be okay to come on in and use the bathroom; he wouldn’t be facing her, and well, you know…nothing would really *show.*
So the next morning, Hope comes in my room, snuggles in with me and asks where daddy is…”He’s in the bathroom, honey.”
(pause)
“Mommy…why does daddy stand up to go to the bathroom?”
I start laughing. Really hard.
“Why don’t you ask *him* honey?” I say, chuckling.
(pause)
“Why is that funny mommy?”
“Because…it just is, honey. It just is.”
